The 6 marimbas concert features works by composers from Canada and the United States and offers listeners the opportunity to discover the rich sound of these instruments through works that illustrate a wide variety of playing styles and musical writing.
Direction 6
Polytope XXI is a tribute concert to Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001), architect, engineer and composer, who wrote some of the most significant works for percussion of the 21st century. It is also the name that composers Myriam Boucher and Dominic Thibault have given to their project of a monumental instrument, a sort of giant audio-luminous harp augmented by electroacoustics.
Dans ma valise (”In my suitcase”)
« Dans ma valise » est un spectacle d’improvisation avec acteurs et percussionnistes. Il se déroule dans la rue, avec des valises de différentes tailles et couleurs, qui chacune contient des instruments, des accessoires, des consignes qui lancent les improvisateurs dans des thèmes variés.
