Kristie Ibrahim has a Masters degree in Chamber Music from McGill University and has performed internationally with chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras in Canada, USA, France, Mexico, and New Zealand. As a co-founder of Montreal percussion ensemble SIXTRUM, as well as percussion duo Akrostick with Fabrice Marandola, Ibrahim dedicates much of her career to creating new works for percussion and experimenting with new performance techniques. She is passionate about working with artists from other disciplines and has collaborated as a sound designer and performer with Montreal theatre companies Geordie Productions (The Jungle Book), Repercussion Theatre (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Tableau d’Hôte and Black Theatre Workshop (Angélique). Recent accolades include a Montreal English Theatre Award for Outstanding Contribution to Theatre for SIXTRUM’s sound design for Angélique.
